PAUSES IN TEMPORAL CURRENT
Pauses in temporal current is a group exhibition that investigates our experiences of time and space from a variety of perspectives.
Augustine of Hippo (AD 354-430), one of the first philosophers to directly address time, commented “What then is time? If no one asks me, I know what it is. If I wish to explain it to him who asks, I do not know”. Is time constitutive of existence or is it possible to exist outside of it? At our quotidian level, do we experience it as a flow? We can understand time as the past, the present and the future. But, the future does not exist yet, the past no longer exists and the present takes up no time at all, so how then are we to approach or understand time?
Utilising media, sculpture and performance Pauses in temporal current explores speeding up, slowing down looking closer and getting lost.
